A Safari Birthday Party

This past Saturday we celebrated Ricky and Flo’s birthday at April’s house. Loads of good food, good fun, and great company! I’m not exactly keen on all the details, since April mixes a pretty killer drink – but I think I was wearing a monkey mask.
The event was a safari party – I [...]

The life of a photographer expressed as a graph

I wish I could claim credit for this, but I can’t. I’m amused because I find this to be generally true. If I was pressed to place myself, I would just be getting out of the HDR hole. I depend so much on post processing to salvage my photographs. I really [...]

Valentines Day 2010

First of all, thank you God for saving my Flowers! Haha!
I picked up a dozen rozes a few days before, hoping to save a little coin. I honestly didn’t know how to keep these guys alive – so I did what the grocers do. Keep them wet and cold.
So I picked out of my cabinets [...]

My step up to full frame with the Sony a850

If my photos are looking a little better lately, it is because I have officially made the move towards serious photography. My early birthday gift to myself is the Sony a850, the worlds first Full Frame digital SLR to be had at less then 2k.
First off, what is the big deal about full frame? Well, [...]

I’m in love with Amazon.com

When it comes to electronics and accessories – you can’t beat the virtual marketplace that is Amazon.com.
For example a Sandisk UDMA 60mb/s 16gb compact flash card costs $260 at bestbuy. I can pick the same item up from 5 different online vendors for $112.
The only thing we need to be careful about here in Hawaii [...]

A Recap of 2009

Well… where does time go? Another year passes on and I find myself very lucky, and with much to be thankful for. I have a loving family that supports me even when I make daft choices. I have a great job… greater still from the people I get to work with. I also have April [...]

Went to diamond head on Sunday

It was a ton of fun, though I admit on the way up all I could see was my feet and the next step forward. The trip down was much more enjoyable. Since I could concentrate less on the next agonizing step and more on the spectacular view.
April is thinking of making this a weekly [...]

Post’er, finally – a native wordpress app for my pre!

Now I can blog directly from my phone using an actual app that interfaces with my blog.
The initial version was ok… But today an update brought what I felt was absolutely necessary. Image support!
Definitely worth the dollar I paid for it. (Or was it two?) Great job to the app author!
